Lightwood is a special place as you can see from the photographs below. It used to be a reservoir until 2007, when it was dismantled by Severn Trent and on the advice of local ecologists, allowed to regenerate with the minimum of interference. Severn Trent are currently negotiating with Nestle who extract water from two bore holes at the entrance to the site to sell the land. There is a rumour that if they are successful Nestle will out the future use of the site out to public consultation. Why not leave it alone. Let nature recover and restore the site?
