It was a foggy and misty morning but the sun was breaking through and warming things up.
There were quite a few birds up and about; A male Wheatear sat on the wall and surveyed the fields, a couple of Sky Larks took flight and sang from a great height, while a Meadow Pipit displayed, parachuting gently down. Later I saw a pair together so perhaps his early morning display had been worth the effort.
Foggy and misty fields
Curlews called from somewhere in the mist and the Lapwings cried their piercing cry as they flew sorties against the crows that were patrolling overhead.
It was good to be and about, and hard to head back to the car. But I had work to do and the dogs wanted their breakfast.
