Up early and grabbing camera and some balls for Lilly the Collie to look after on our walk, we set off for Cunning dale again. Not as warm as yesterday, and the nettles seemed fiercer on the legs than usual, but still a tonic for the mind. Like the scatter brained idiot that I am some times I had forgotten to bring my binoculars, so I had to make do with listening to the birds but then this gave me more time to study the insects that were feeding on the flowers. So below are a few of my very ordinary photos of a far from ordinary place.
The variety of plants, and herbs is too much for my limited knowledge. Using a guide book is OK but there always seems to be several versions of a plant and I can never quite pin them down. And as for the butterflies and insects…. I just enjoy them. Perhaps I’ll send Steve Orridge a photo for he is sure to know.
